On May 14, 2025, the Indiana Office of Energy Development (IOED) launched the Indiana Energy Saver Program, which will provide $182 million in funding for Indiana residents through the Home Efficiency Rebate (HOMES) and Home Appliance Rebate (HEAR) programs.

As part of the launch, IOED also announced the first set of investments through a partnership with Vincent Village, Inc., a local non-profit that provides critical services to families experiencing homelessness, to complete four initial projects. Low- and moderate-income households can participate in the HEAR program for up to $14,000 in discounts on eligible technologies. Other energy efficiency upgrades may be covered by the HOMES program that offers income-eligible households up to $12,000 for projects that save between 20 and 34 percent of energy use or up to $18,000 for projects that save at least 35 percent of energy use.

The Indiana Energy Saver Program will support statewide objectives to reduce utility bill costs and improve energy affordability for Indiana residents. In the launch announcement, Indiana Governor Mike Braun stated, “Cutting energy costs is at the very heart of what we are focused on. The Indiana Energy Program prioritizes practical solutions to improve energy affordability and deliver quality products.”
